Health & safety guidelines

Please read the following before your appointment…

POLICIES

I am licensed as a Body Art Technician, therefore, no one under the age of 18 is allowed to proceed with my services.

  • A NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is required to book your appointment. This deposit ensures you are as committed as your artist to your transformation. Multiple deposits for different services cannot be combined to cover the cost of one service. You may reschedule your appointment up to 48 hours before your scheduled time. If rescheduling is needed after the 48 hours, a $50 rescheduling fee will need to be paid prior to rescheduling. ALL CANCELLATIONS FORFEIT THEIR DEPOSIT.

  • If you are more than 15 minutes late to your appointment, we may have to reschedule your appointment and the $50 rescheduling fee will apply.

  • Deposits and payments for services are paid via Venmo, PayPal, Apple Pay, or cash only.

  • Your balance after your deposit is due the day of your appointment.

  • Any client that does not show for a scheduled appointment will forfeit their deposit and will be required to pay a new deposit to book a new appointment. Ember Brows reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any circumstance.

  • Healed results vary with each individual client. A minimum of TWO sessions is recommended but more sessions may be necessary depending on desired look. Examples like adding a few hair strokes or filling in a gap/spot is considered a full touch up.

  • Traveling appointments: If your artist is traveling to you for your appointment, there will be a $50 charge added to your total cost. This fee can be paid with your deposit or at the time of the appointment. This includes both initial and touch up sessions separately. Your artist may charge more depending on location of service.

PREVIOUS TATTOO WORK - PLEASE ADVISE: If you have previously tattooed work you will need to email a clear picture of the area before booking an appointment. If you book a cover-up appointment without approval by your artist we cannot guarantee your appointment and you may forfeit your deposit. Not all previously tattooed brows are fixable. An additional fee is often added due to cover-ups being more work for the artist. Since we do not touch up other artist’s work, if you have previous cosmetic tattooing by another artist you will be charged first session pricing at minimum.

Lip Blush Pre Care

  • Exfoliating your lips for the week prior to the appointment is highly recommended. You can do this by using a drop of coconut oil and sugar to create your own sugar scrub and use this every day for the week prior to your appointment.  We also highly suggest using a lip conditioner, mask, or balm every day leading up to the appointment to get the lips in great shape. Additionally, please make sure you are hydrated by drinking plenty of water prior to your appointment.

  • Avoid Aspirin or any other medications with blood thinning effects at least three days prior to your appointment. This is also applicable for any other service.

  • Start homeopathic oral Arnica, to safely treat bruising and swelling. It is recommended to start the day before and continue for 5 days following your treatment.

We do NOT recommend the topical Arnica post treatment.

Lip Blush and Cold Sores Disclaimer

It is required that the client consult with their physician prior to taking, altering, or stopping any form of medication and/or supplements, or making changes to their dosing cycles etc.

Cold sores are often called fever blisters. After entering the body, the virus remains dormant most of the time, but, if a trigger activates the virus, a cold sore can develop. Trauma to the lips such as LIP BLUSH would be the trigger of a possible flare up.

A person may have just one outbreak and no recurrence, while others may have two or three outbreaks each year.  Some people may carry the virus and never have an outbreak because it remains dormant.

It is insisted that if you have ever had any kind of cold sore, fever blister etc. to take Valtrex. 1 dose on the day of the procedure, and for 3 days following the appointment.

FAQS

What is Microblading?

Manual microblading is a process that involves tiny, fine-point needles that make up a small disposable blade that is used to implant color pigment beneath the surface of the skin. The process is sterile and produces the appearance of hair-like strokes to enhance the natural eyebrow.

Does Cosmetic Tattooing hurt?

Although the procedure can take up to 2 hours, the actual tattooing process (for brows) takes only about 30-60 minutes. Most people only report feeling minor pressure or discomfort and less pain than a typical tattoo. Highly effective topical numbing agents are used before and during your procedure. Pain threshold levels vary from person to person and every effort is made to ensure your comfort throughout the entirety of your procedure.

How long does Cosmetic Tattooing last?

The effects of cosmetic tattooing last anywhere between 18 and 36 months, sometimes 2-5 years. Initially the color or pigment will appear much more vibrant or darker compared to the end result. Usually within 7 days, the color will fade by 40-50%. It will soften and look more natural. A recommended enhancement or "touch-up" session 6 weeks after your initial appointment will most likely need to take place. The treatment is considered semi-permanent, however, it will fade over time and may need a touch up every 1-2 years. Frequency of touch-ups depends on lifestyle (sun exposure, use of medical grade skin-care products, etc.), skin type, and preferred look. Please note, final results cannot be guaranteed as each unique skin type/client holds pigments differently and breaks down pigment at different rates.
